Inspired from his artistic parents Brian Walker and Ann Smith, Justin embraced First Nations Art, which eventually led him to study at the Institute of American Indian Art in New Mexico.
In 2004, Smith joined Northern Cultural Expressions Society’s Carving Program giving him the opportunity to work in a team-based environment where he continues to learn and advance his skills. It allows him to update his portfolio that consists of staffs, panels, masks, bentwood boxes, original designs, drawings and much more.
Justin’s accomplishments include the completion of the Healing Totem Pole guided by Wayne Price, Chief Shakes Clan House in Wrangell, Alaska, and the Dugout Canoe that was gifted to the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre.
As a citizen of the Kwanlin Dün First Nations, Justin Smith is proud to continue his family tradition as an accomplished First Nation artist.
