Josh was born Whitehorse, Yukon. Member of the Carcross Tagish First Nations, he comes from the crow clan.
Growing up, Josh was interested in the art history and culture. Working in the program with the advanced instructors, Calvin Morberg and Duran Henry, has helped him through the steps of doing traditional art.
Josh joined Northern Cultural Expressions Society in the 2017 and has shown significant participation in the Beginning Carving Program. Starting with traditional form-line design, acrylic painting and woodcarvings; this has opened up to many opportunities with N.C.E.S. His passions for first nations art and working with the carvers has helped broaden his creativity and skills as an artist.
“ I happy for what I’m doing, I’m looking forward to expanding my skills, creativity and future opportunities.”
