Jessica VanBibber, citizen of Champagne and Aishihik First Nation, was born in Vancouver, BC. She was raised between Whitehorse and Pelly Crossing, YT. She is of Selkirk First Nation and of Northern Tutchone decent.
Taking visual art classes in high school captured Jessica’s attention, diverting her to the Beginner Carving Program within Northern Cultural Expressions Society. As a participant, Jessica had engaged with advanced carvers in workshops such as knife making, soapberry spoon and much more.
Jessica wants to continue to keep the traditions flowing into the next generations.
