Acting Executive Director
Born in Alaska, Jacqueline Bazett was raised between the Yukon, British Columbia and Alberta. She is a citizen of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and a member of the Wolf Clan.
Jacqueline dedicated many years in the Canadian Armed Forces (Reserves) and graduated with a Trade Qualification of Administration and, served the 20th Field Artillery Regiment as Senior Regimental Administrator in Edmonton, Alberta. Her qualifications include a number of college-level certifications and diplomas with a special focus on First Nations Business Development.
In 1995, Jacqueline moved back to the Yukon where she started a restaurant with her sister, and later co-owned the famous Whitehorse landmark, the Talisman Café for a number of years. During that time she served as Director for the Ta’an Kwach’an Council representing the Jenny LeBarge Traditional Family since 2001.
Jacqueline has served on a number of non-profit corporations, societal boards and for-profit boards that include serving two terms for the Yukon Arts Center, and is currently the Secretary for Grey Mountain Housing Society and Vice-Chair & Director for the Yukon Development Corporation for the Yukon Government.
Jacqueline is the Acting Executive Director of Northern Cultural Expressions Society since August 2013.
